The enemy intercepts unencrypted radio traffic to locate and target our soldiers. Encrypted radios close that gap. They are, very literally, the difference between being found and staying hidden.
The brigade
Helena served for a long time with a brigade that was sent wherever the situation was worst — the unit called in to put out fires along the front when a position was on the verge of collapse. They fought at Robotyne during the Zaporizhzhia counteroffensive, at Kupiansk, and they have been holding Pokrovsk since 2024. Some of the men have been there ever since, with almost no time off.
Helena was wounded fighting alongside them, and she lost many friends. She is in reserve now, but she has never left them behind — she still brings aid to the guys who are still out there. This fundraiser is part of that.
Right now the reconnaissance battalion needs encrypted radios. Their work depends on staying unseen and unheard. Radios that the enemy cannot intercept let them move, watch, and report without giving away their position. It is one of the most direct ways to keep these men alive.
